Incredibly offensive New Yorker cover

Holy shit! I remember when it was 75 cents.

i saw this cover earlier today. i don't understand how the editors of a respected magazine could put this trash out there.

They put it out because it's satire. What's less clear is what the cartoonist and the editors expected the reaction to be.

i understand that it is satirical, but this just provides fuel for the far right to continue its unsubstantiated bashing.

They would and will continue that anyway.

It's satirical, yes, but it's just bad. As in, I thought the New Yorker had better artists at its disposal, and somewhat better judgment?

75 cents. I was going to make an age joke, but I remember when comic books were a quarter.

It's in keeping with the New Yorker brand of humor. Risqué enough to incite cocktail party titters, but banal enough to be thoroughly unfunny.

Two for a quarter and a penny change, sonny boy.
